I bought a packet of Whisky White tea at DavidsTea and was left impressed by how reminiscent of whisky this tea was! I was assured, however, that this tea contains no alcohol. The packet even says “Whisky Tea: Drink it on the job.” This tea is out as part of The Tea Aficionado collection for Father’s Day. The collection features Whisky White and four other “manly” teas. Instead of buying the set I decided just to sample this one flavour for now. I’ll go back for the others later…
The Whisky White has a white tea base but there are also peaches and macadamia nuts in the mix. The aroma is what I found to be most like whisky. The
tea itself has a smooth, sweet flavour with a hint of whisky taste that becomes stronger at the end of each sip. Naturally the longer it steeps, the stronger the smell and taste so it depends on your personal preference how strong you want it. The combination of flavours and aromas in this tea make it one complex and fascinating blend. –S
