I picked up this Plum Oolong from Teaopia. Although there are no plums in this blend, with a combination of sultana raisins, sour cherries, and schisandra berries there is a distinct, rich fruity appeal to this brew. To help mellow the sourness that often accompanies berry teas, mallow flower blossoms add a delicate touch.
On first brew this tea is a bit strong, but oolongs are great for two or three brews. I personally like this on its second steep. Where as the first brew is strong with fruity tang, the second brew allows more of the delicate notes to shine through. -M
I’ve tried this particular tea. Personally I find it a bit too tart for me. Other than that, it’a an awesome tea. It’s great to see your blog. You should come and visit us at Apres-midi Teahouse in Gastown. It’s a new teahouse that just opened last week. We have a plum oolong that’s added with sweet French plum extract, it’s a great mid afternoon sipping tea.
We would love to come by and visit, thank you! We hope to be by sometime this weekend.
